Foxcom's SDTVplus Fiber Return System provides a fully integrated solution for two-way hybrid fiberoptic-coax deployment in MDUs. In addition to providing a simple to install, simple to use video distribution system, the Fiber Return Path System fiberoptic return path connects two way services such as cable modems, VOD, and security, over a single fiberoptic cable. Using the Return Path System, service providers such as Private Cable Operators (PCOs) can easily increase their service offerings.
How does the Fiber Return Path System work? Sitting near the headend, the SDTVplus Transmitter converts all incoming services to optics and transmits these signals to optical receivers nodes (RPT MiniHubs) placed throughout the property. The RPT MiniHub Receivers converts the incoming optical signal sent from the SDTVplus Transmitter to RF and then distributes the signal to each living unit over a coax infrastructure.
Return path signals are transmitted from each subscriber to the RPT MiniHub via coax cable. The RPT MiniHub converts the incoming RF signals to optics and delivers these signals back to the headend via singlemode fiber. A Return Path Receiver, which sits at the headend, reconverts and sends the RF signals to a co-located CMTS.
The SDTVplus Fiber MiniHub is the ideal MDU solution, for garden style living, high rise apartments, stadiums, hotels, office parks; anywhere a high-density solution is required.
