Foxcom announces the release of the 7870 Series high performance fiber optic link for uplink and downlink applications at Satellite 2003 in Washington, D.C

First product release in the Series 7800 family of IF Transmitters and Receivers

Jerusalem, Israel and Princeton, NJ, Feb. 26, 2003-Foxcom, Ltd, a leading worldwide manufacturer of fiber optic transmitters and receivers is announcing the release of its 7870 IF fiber optic link at Satellite 2003 in Washington, D.C from February 26-28 2003 on booth 527. The link is designed for multi-channel traffic and designed with the highest specifications on the market.

Series 7800
The 7870 is the first product to be released in the new Series 7800 family of IF fiber optic links. All of the 7800 Series feature DFB lasers, overall higher input/output power, improved performance and enhanced usability. As in all Foxcom products, the Series 7800 offer the highest cost-to-performance ratio on the market. "Our focus has always been on the satcom market and as it evolves towards higher quality video and data centric IP applications we have re-positioned our products to meet our customers' needs," said John Murphy, Director of Foxcom Americas.

The 7870, the first member of the 7800 Series, is designed for cross site applications where the distance between the data or video modems and the uplink antenna is up to 15 Km. Features include maximum input/output power of -5 dBm and a third order intercept point of -50 dBc. "The 7870 is ideally designed for high-density and multi-carrier traffic requiring superb dynamic range characteristics, " continues John Murphy. "We have improved the set-up and on-going usability through enhanced front panel LEDs indicating the ideal RF operating power level. In addition the initial set-up has been optimized and sped up by eliminating the front panel potentiometer on the transmitter," said John Murphy.
