FOXCOM INTRODUCES A NEW SERIES 810 FIBER OPTIC 3.5 GHz DBS AND CATV TRANSMITTER FOR FTTX APPLICATIONS

LAS VEGAS, NV – Foxcom, A Division of OnePath Networks, Inc., introduced today at the FTTH Conference and Expo their new Series 810 FTTx 1550 nm directly modulated Fiber Optic Transmitter.

The 810 Fiber Optic Transmitter is Foxcom’s latest offering to provide RF over Fiber Video Overlays for the FTTX and large MDU market. Designed to address the need to provide new revenue generating services such as HDTV, the 810 has an industry leading bandwidth of 3.5 GHz to support the latest single wire/fiber, multi-satellite distribution schemes including PON and point-to-point architectures.

Packaged in a slim and  efficient 1RU rack mount housing, the 810 offers options for CATV, 3.5 GHz DBS Satellite signals, or both, in a single product. The high power optical output can be used to drive Foxcom’s Series 82 EDFA Optical Amplifers configured to address almost any FTTX deployment. On board SBS suppression circuitry provides for excellent noise performance at the widest possible bandwidth available.

Continuing Foxcom’s leadership in the area of reliabilty, the Series 810 comes complete with dual, redundant “hot-swappable” power supplies to insure intgerity of service. The 810 Transmitter is the first Foxcom FTTx Series 8 product to incorporate SNMP, allowing for remote and local monitor and control of the unit’s most critical functions. In addition, the SNMP function can also monitor one Foxcom Series 82 EDFA with no additional software or cost thus giving operators all the features and benefits of carrier grade equipment at an enterprise price.

Foxcom has also re-introduced their 800 Series of FTTx HONU, video fiber optic receivers for the home. As with the the 810 Tx, the Series 800 HONU can service DBS, CATV, or both, in a small and economical package providing the PCO with the largest choice of service options and programming content.
